Therapy to Create Meaningful, Lasting Change.
Starting mental health counseling is the first step on a journey of exploration, growth, and healing. It can feel overwhelming, but reaching out doesn't have to be. Nancy Divis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with 15 + years as a therapist specializing in various mental health methodologies for Central Texas clients.

Life Can Be Different
Whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, counseling can provide a place to better understand yourself and begin making meaningful changes. Serving clients in Central Texas, we'll identify what matters most, develop practical goals, and work toward a life with greater clarity, connection, and purpose.
Therapy Begins with Understanding You
A Safe Space for Open Conversation
Feeling comfortable and safe matters. Privacy is tantamount to sacred - client and therapist. I believe meaningful therapy happens when people feel safe enough to speak honestly without fear of judgment. The goal is to create a calm, welcoming environment where you can explore difficult thoughts and emotions openly. Therapy is a conversation built on curiosity, compassion, and collaboration—not criticism. Questions are welcomed, boundaries are respected, and each session moves at a pace that feels right for you.
Every person arrives with a different story. Some visit because they're overwhelmed by anxiety or sadness. Others come to express grief, find meaning or simply sense that life could feel different. Whatever brings you here, therapy begins with attentive listening.
The first sessions are designed to understand your experiences, clarify your goals, and create a plan that reflects what you hope to accomplish. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. It's a collaborative process built around your needs, your pace, and your vision for change.
Change That Takes Shape Beyond the Office
“The therapy actually happens between sessions.”
Real growth doesn't end when the session is over.
Together, we will identify practical ways to apply what you've learned between appointments. Each session builds on previous progress, helping you develop healthier ways of thinking, communicating, and responding to life's challenges.
Therapy becomes part of everyday life—not just something that happens once a week.
You can reach out to me to schedule in-person therapy for clients in Buda, Kyle, San Marcos, and South Austin. Virtual therapy appointments are also available.

Serving Individuals, Couples & Families
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps clients recognize unhealthy thinking patterns and replace them with a healthier and more balanced outlook.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR involves bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tactile stimulation, or audio) to help the brain process traumatic memories.
Goal-oriented Therapy
Long-term change starts with clearly understanding a client’s needs and defining goals that can be worked on between therapy sessions.

I'm happy to talk with prospective clients when it's helpful. Sometimes a brief conversation helps us determine whether my approach is a good fit for what you're looking for. Other times, clients are ready to move forward with scheduling an appointment. Every situation is a little different, and we'll decide together what makes the most sense.

The easiest way to begin is by reaching out through the contact form on my website or by calling the office. Once I receive your information, we'll contact you to discuss your needs, answer any questions you may have, and guide you through the next steps, including scheduling your first appointment if we're a good fit.
-
Yes. I offer both in-person and virtual therapy appointments. During our initial conversation, we can discuss which option is the best fit for your needs and schedule.
-
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll review the information you've already shared, talk about what has brought you to therapy, and begin identifying the goals that are most important to you.
You'll also have an opportunity to ask questions about my approach and what therapy may look like moving forward. Together, we'll begin creating a plan that reflects what you hope to accomplish.
-
There's no perfect way to prepare for therapy. Some people arrive with a list of things they'd like to discuss, while others simply know that something doesn't feel quite right. I encourage clients to think about what they hope will be different in their lives and what they'd like us to focus on together. The work we do between sessions often becomes just as important as the conversations we have during them.
-
I get it - sometimes, life happens. In those rare instances when you must cancel or reschedule or simply forget one of our sessions, my policy is outlined as below:
$75 - No call/no show
$50 - Late cancel less than 24 hours before the appointment
$0 - No cancelation charge prior to 24 hours of the session.

Therapy offers an opportunity to better understand the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that influence your daily life. As we become more aware of those patterns, we can begin making intentional changes that move you toward the life you want to live. Therapy isn't about having someone tell you what to do—it's about working together to discover what works best for you.
-
Yes. Protecting your privacy is an important part of therapy. Information shared during sessions is kept confidential, with a few legal and ethical exceptions that will be explained during your intake process. If you ever have questions about confidentiality, I'm happy to discuss them with you.
